Practical tools for Queensland renters

Turn the dates in front of you into something easier to understand. These tools run in your browser and do not save what you enter.

Use these as a guide, not a legal decision. Check the actual notice, delivery rules, tenancy type and current RTA information before relying on a calculated date.

Situation-first help

Use the situation-first finder to reach a plain-English explanation and the current official form page.

A careful first check

Turn a confusing document into a checkable record.

These tools are designed for the first ten minutes after you receive a notice, rent message or repair response. They help you copy dates, spot missing information and organise evidence. They do not replace the document in front of you or decide whether a legal exception applies.

01

Copy, don't guess

Use the date printed on the notice or the date a payment actually left your account. Keep the original email, envelope or receipt beside the calculation so another person can reproduce it.

02

Check the right rule

Notice periods can depend on the reason, agreement type, service method and current legislation. A result that looks tidy can still be the wrong result if the wrong category was selected.

03

Save the explanation

Write down the inputs, the result and the question that remains. Attach photographs, ledgers, forms and messages to that timeline instead of relying on memory when a deadline is close.

What this page cannot decide

It cannot determine whether a notice is valid, whether a property meets every standard, whether a charge is reasonable or which remedy is available in your circumstances. For official process information contact the RTA; for individual renter advice contact QSTARS.

Important date planner

Use the date and number of days written on your notice or agreement.

Enter a whole number from 0 to 365. This planner does not add service or postal time.

Calculated calendar date

Choose a starting date

Count this independently against the current RTA guidance before acting.

Rent increase first check

Check two core rules for a Queensland general tenancy: the 12-month interval and usual two months' written notice.

Preliminary result

Enter all three dates

A result is only shown after both timing rules can be checked.

Evidence checklist

Tick what you have, then fill the gaps before memories, messages or photos disappear.
